Jobs to do in September

Gardening jobs in September:

• Mow the lawn less regularly.
• Sow or turf new lawns, and scarify and aerate established ones.
• Take hardwood cuttings from roses.
• Plant spring-flowering bulbs, plant out spring-flowering biennials.
• Keep collecting seeds from perennials and cut down and divide them.
• Harvest the last of courgettes and lift the maincrop potatoes
• Plant onio sets and sow spring cabbages.
• Some plants that they will look nice in this month are:
  • Afrian blue lily.
  • Coneflower.
  • Michaelmas daisy.
  • Sea holly
  • Goldenrod.
  • Ice plant.
